In 1975, Fritz Weisend challenged his Research and Development team to isolate and develop growth techniques for specific strains of bacteria. This challenge would ultimately culminate into the world's first commercial bio-division dedicated to growth and supply nitrifying bacteria. Coining the name “Zyme” Fritz Industries, Inc. was awarded a United States Trademark for the name Fritz-Zyme™ in 1980 and a true legend was born.
